  • College Information Night - this Weds, September 27th at 6:00pm - All Parents and Families invited to attend!!!!

  • Free Mental Health First Aid Training: Recognize warning signs of mental health problems and substance use disorders. Adult and youth Mental Health First Aid training is appropriate for anyone 18 years and older. Learn more about upcoming MCOE trainings here.

  • Science Fair - Reminder: the annual fall science fair coordinator orientation is Thursday, October 5, 4- 5PM. Did you know that community members can also volunteer to be science fair coordinators? Email mendosciencefair@mcoe.us for the Zoom link or with any questions. Share this short video with anyone interested. 


    • Join a Community of Practice for Multigrade Teachers - This is an online group hosted by the California Rural Education Network that is intended to provide support to multigrade teachers in rural settings.   CLICK HERE for more information. It’s Free!


    • The San Diego County Office of Education is offering a FREE virtual Google Back-to-Basics training.  The training sessions are on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00.  Participants can sign up for one of the sessions they are interested in and don’t have to commit to all of the sessions.

    • Volleyball this week - we have four home volleyball games this week. All of them happen to be home games.  Lots of fun sports action to check out on campus.... Go Bearcats!!!

    • PVHS Booster Club - Parents & Families - 
    • Boosters needs volunteers! Please check your email for the sign up genius and pick a day and time to help volunteer in the booster snack shack for volleyball this week.  We have four days of home games and we need a lot of hands on deck to be open.  This is how we fund our sports programs and transportation to our away games. Check with the PVHS Office for details.

      Reminders for the week:

      • Pickle Ball - What's happening in the kitchen?....(I'm told that is part of the court?!?) … The opening ceremony for our amazing new tennis court / pickle ball court will be happening this Wednesday at the beginning of the school board meeting...make sure to stop by and check out this new space for our kids and community. 





      • Football - we continue to have a shortage of officials for all games county wide...Are you interested in becoming an official? Click here to find out how to help out: Redwood Empire Officials Association 






      • Volleyball this week - we have two Junior High Games this week and our first JV & Varsity games. Go Bearcats!!!




      • Staff Meeting - our staff meeting this week will focus on training for the AR and Star testing we will be implementing in 7 through 12th grades...please make sure to attend so that you can ask questions about this system from Renaissance Learning...calendar invites and links will be in Google calendar

      • Upcoming Mendocino Youth Poet Laureate Competition, 2023-24. Deadline to enter is November 1. A partnership between Urban Word, California Poets in the Schools and the Arts Council of Mendocino County, this opportunity is designed to honor young writers and leaders, between the ages of 13-19, who are committed to making a civic impact through community engagement using the power of their written and spoken words. The Poet Laureate will receive an honorarium of $500 per one-year term, publication in a national youth anthology, and a professionally published book (if desired). More information here.

      • Laptops - Staff for all meetings, please make sure to bring a charged laptop.  This will allow us to look at the same material at the same time. 

      • The CDE Diagnostic Center North (DCN) will hold a virtual Dysgraphia and Writing Supporting training event.  Participants will discuss the elements of dysgraphia, explore which evaluation tools assess for dysgraphia, and practice reading data and using that data to determine which area of dysgraphia the student may need the most support with, and more. Free and open to the public. Register via the DCN Dysgraphia and Writing Supports web page. Email contactus@dcn-cde.ca.gov or call 510-794-2500 with any questions.
