Reminders for the week:
July 2023 Welcome Back Teachers and Staff,
Welcome back everyone to the 2023-2024 school year at Potter Valley Junior and Senior High School. I am excited to begin a new year as Principal and Superintendent in Potter Valley. After 11 years of teaching high school, it is hard to believe this is my 8th year as a Principal. Now, working at Potter Valley High School, I am absolutely looking forward to the work we are going to do together as we start a new school year. Potter Valley is such a wonderful place for all of our kids to learn and grow.
We are all looking forward to having students back in our classrooms, filling them with energy and excitement for learning. This year we are welcoming our new site secretary Ms. Meyer. Ms. Pauli will take on the challenge of assisting with athletics, student behavior and PBIS implementation. Ms. Logan will be our new academic advisor. As always, our shared mission is to help every child feel welcomed, connected and a part of Potter Valley Jr./Sr. High School. I look forward to working with all of our staff and to being a part of this wonderful learning community.
I hope you had a restful and relaxing summer. I know that you are filled with ideas and enthusiasm for the upcoming school year. As your vacation time draws down, I am sure that you are thinking and preparing for the new school year. Please let me know if there is anything that I can help you with as you prepare for the kids.
This first week back will include site staff meetings and time to work in your classrooms on Monday, August 14th. District wide PBIS training and the 7th and 9th Grade Orientation will happen on Tuesday, August 15th. On Wednesday, August 16th, we will have a district wide staff meeting and training in the morning and then time in your classrooms for the remainder of the day. Classified staff will have continued PBIS training on the afternoon of August 16th. Students return to classes on Thursday August 17th. There is a lot going on in these first few days. Please make sure to stay connected and ask lots of questions.
