JUNIOR & SENIOR
HIGH SCHOOL
Weekly Bulletin
August 21st to August 25th, 2023
Reminders for the week:
Thank you for a nice start to the school year...
Expectation Stations - starting 2nd period on Monday we are going to be moving our classes around campus to do explicit teaching of behavior. This part of PBIS is critical as we have to tell the student how we want them to act in different areas if we expect them to behave that way...Please connect with the office if you have questions. Make sure to be on time with your students to each of the stations.
If you have a moment, please review the PBIS School Manual and the Expectation Station guide linked here prior to this event.
PBIS Manual for Potter Valley Jr/Sr High School 2023-2024
“Teaching behavior as relentlessly as we teach reading or other academic content is the ultimate act of prevention, promise and power underlying PBS and other preventive interventions in America’s schools."
- Bob Algozzine, Chuang Wang & Amy S. Violette, 2011
Bus Duty Reminder - Please take as look at the bus duty schedule below...we have bus duty starting now...being present at the front and making sure kids are safe is the main part of this duty

What is the Principal thinking about today?
“If a child doesn’t know how to read, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to swim, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to multiply, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to drive, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to behave, we …teach? …punish?
Why can’t we finish the last sentence as automatically as we do the others?"
Tom Herner, 1998
