Reminders for the week:
Welcome Back Teachers and Staff,
Welcome back everyone to the 2024-2025 school year at Potter Valley Junior and Senior High School. It is exciting to begin this new year as Principal and Superintendent in Potter Valley. I started my teacher intern position at Willits High School in the school year 2003-2004…that is twenty years ago…no way!!!!! This is my ninth year as a Principal, my third year here at Potter Valley. This year is just as exciting as my first year in teaching. I am absolutely looking forward to the work we are going to do together as we start a new school year. Potter Valley is a wonderful place for all of our kids to learn and grow.
We are all looking forward to having students back in our classrooms, filling them with energy and excitement for learning. This year we are welcoming our new PE teacher Ms. Charneski and our new Science teacher Ms. Church. Ms. Pauli will continue with the challenge of assisting with athletics, student behavior and PBIS implementation. Ms. Logan will be continuing as academic advisor and working on everything from scheduling to Senior Projects. As always, our shared mission is to help every child feel welcomed, connected and a part of Potter Valley Jr./Sr. High School. I look forward to working with all of our staff and to being a part of this amazing learning community.
I hope you had a restful and relaxing summer. I know that you are filled with ideas and enthusiasm for the upcoming school year. As your vacation time draws down, I am sure that you are thinking and preparing for the new school year. Please let me know if there is anything that I can help you with as you prepare for the kids.
This first week back will include site staff meetings and time to work in your classrooms on Monday, August 12th. District wide PBIS / UDL training and the 7th and 9th Grade Orientation will happen on Tuesday, August 13th. On Wednesday, August 14th, we will have a district wide Welcome Breakfast and then time in your classrooms for the remainder of the day. Students return to classes on Thursday August 15th. There is a lot going on in these first few days. Please make sure to stay connected and ask lots of questions.
I look forward to connecting with each of you as we return to school. Please check your email and calendar each day for updated information on what is happening on campus. If you have any questions or concerns, please stop by the office, call or email me at rkale@pottervalleyschools.us.
Again, I want to welcome you to an exciting new year at Potter Valley Community Unified School District.
